The Alliance Keeps You Informed
Today, no organization can go it alone. It is a daunting task to
keep up with the laws and regulations that seem to change on a daily
basis, yet failure to do so can be costly and disruptive. At the
Alliance you are represented by a skilled and effective public policy
team committed to working your issues and keeping you informed.
They monitor and report vital information on continually changing
regulations, and they advance Alliance positions on policies that
directly affect your operations and the well-being of the people
you serve.
The Alliance Advocates on Your Behalf
The Alliance takes action in Salem on your behalf with the state
Legislature, regulatory agencies and departments, helping enact
legislation that affects your future. We coordinate efforts on state
and federal policies with the American Association of Homes and
Services for the aging (AAHSA), our national association.
The Alliance Meets Your Training and Education Needs
The Alliance develops and delivers quality educational programs
and conferences at locations throughout Oregon on topics that are
critically important to the aging services community. Members benefit
from the educational and networking opportunities available through
the Alliance, enabling them to grow and learn, manage change, implement
cost-effective practices, and provide the highest level of service
to clients.
The Alliance Helps You Save Time and Money
The Alliance’ size and purchasing power helps members save
money and time through its group purchasing, shared services and
employee benefit programs.
The Alliance Helps You Make Valuable Connections
Building relationships with other Alliance members will help you
create a group of peers who can be a valuable resource when you
have questions or challenges in your facility or organization. You’ll
find Alliance members are more colleagues than competitors –
they are eager to help.
The Alliance Provides Opportunities for Boards of Directors
One of the important distinctions of not-for-profit Alliance members
is that we all have a volunteer board of directors that generously
provide their time and expertise towards meeting the mission of
the organization and serving as ambassadors for us within the communities
we serve. One of the Alliance’s strategic initiatives includes
promoting and supporting Alliance members’ abilities in board
and leadership development.
The Alliance Engages Your Residents
The Alliance sponsors a variety of unique programs to engage members’
residents in creative activities and foster a closer relationship
between the state organization and residents. Programs include the
Ageless Art Exhibit and Calendar, Creative Writing and Poetry Festival,
and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon.
The Alliance Links You with National Leaders in Aging Services
The Alliance is the Oregon affiliate of the American Association
of Homes for the Aging (AAHSA). AAHSA represents 5,600 mission-driven,
not-for-profit nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities,
assisted living/residential care and senior housing facilities,
and home and community-based service providers. AAHSA advocates
on members’ behalf at the federal level and plays a major
role in the development of public policy related to senior care
and housing. AAHSA is committed to advancing the vision of healthy,
affordable, ethical aging services for America.
