Mission & Values
"Creating the future of aging services
in Oregon.
Keeping people at the center through leadership, advocacy and education."
The mission of the Oregon Alliance of Senior & Health Services
is to represent and promote the common interests of its membership
through leadership, advocacy, education and other services in order
to enhance members’ ability to serve their constituency.
The Alliance promotes the not-for-profit philosophy and serves
as a resource:
- To members serving the whole person’s physical, social
and spiritual dimensions;
- For growth and development of residents, staff, families and
the public;
- For enhancing the lives of persons served by its members and
empowering them, while recognizing the value and dignity of each
individual and the diversity and complexity of their needs.
Values
- Excellence -- having internal and external empirical
standards to ensure all services are provided with the highest
level of quality.
- Dignity and respect -- recognizing the intrinsic value
of every human being.
- Holistic -- addressing the physical, social, spiritual
and psychological needs of persons being served.
- Ethical -- holding ourselves to the highest moral
and ethical standards.
- Stewardship -- prudently managing resources, being
accountable in the management of those resources and working to
assure that not only our organizations but the state are good
stewards of our resources.
- Access for all -- serving elders, the infirm and disabled
of all races, creeds and income levels.
- Willingness to be open to the creation of best practice
in service and system development.
- Respect for the values of the communities we serve
and the citizens that created the not-for-profit organizations
we manage.
